Gain time in drawing and interpreting pedigrees linked to consanguineous marriages. PedigreeXP automatically calculates the coefficient of consanguinity and indicates it with a double-line.
Coefficient of consanguinity is the probability that a pair of alleles belonging to different individuals are the same, given their degree of common ancestry. Oxford Index
The offspring of consanguineous unions may be at increased risk to genetic disorders because of the expression of autosomal recessive gene mutations inherited from a common ancestor. The closer the biological relationship between parents, the greater is the probability that their offspring will inherit identical copies of one or more detrimental recessive mutations.
The coefficient of consanguinity is calculated and analysed to assist health professionals who provide genetic counseling and screening to related couples and their offspring.
It’s important for genetic counselors, geneticists or other health professionals to appropriately document and draw pedigrees of consanguineous marriages if present in the family.

PC PAL applications are designed for integration in various IT environments. PedigreeXP is no exception to the rule, whether the integration is in hospital information systems or in specific medical systems. The object implementation approach makes PedigreeXP unique and gives its users high implementation flexibility.
We must not forget that the design or modification of a pedigree is an action that must be performed as efficiently as possible. PedigreeXP favors the design and customization of the pedigrees, as well as their management and graphic restitution, while allowing interfacing with other systems. The very accomplished pedigree design and the high integration capability of PedigreeXP make it the best design software in its class.
PedigreeXP exists in different versions to best meet the different use cases encountered in hospitals.
The professional version allows, with some settings, to automate a direct link with the patient record. PedigreeXP is launched from the patient record, the pedigree is designed and updated with PedigreeXP and directly saved into the patient record. In this version, data can be directly visualized and entered in third-party databases.
The component version allows pedigree visualization in other applications. This is a different approach which emphasizes on data retrieval and on control of access to data. This version is fully compatible with Windows or web applications, PedigreeXP is embedded and driven by other applications.
The standalone version, available online, provides individual users total autonomy in the design and management of their pedigrees. The pedigrees are saved in the native format of the software and shared in PDF format. Pedigrees are manually added in patient records.
These different versions offer a wide variety of integration scenarios to best meet the needs of our customers and software vendors. Use cases are numerous, the list above gives you an overview, I hope it will give you ideas for your projects.

Elle fonctionne aussi bien avec des applications web que Windows, PedigreeXP est alors embarqué et piloté par d’autres applications.
La version autonome de PedigreeXP, accessible en ligne, propose aux utilisateurs individuels une totale autonomie dans la conception et la gestion de leurs arbres. Les arbres sont sauvegardés dans le format natif du logiciel, les échanges en format PDF. Les arbres sont associés manuellement dans les dossiers patients.
Ces différentes versions autorisent des scenarii d’intégration d’une grande variété permettant de répondre au mieux aux attentes de nos clients et partenaires éditeurs de logiciels.
